Arsenal 6/4, Draw 9/4, Chelsea 9/5
Arsenal return to the Emirates Stadium this Sunday where they’ll take on Chelsea in the hope of reducing the gap from ten points to seven.
Their battling displays in the FA Cup Semi-final against Reading, and at Burnley helped continue their impressive winning streak, but Chelsea will pose a totally different threat.
Chelsea come into the game following an impressive (and important) victory at home to Manchester United where once again, Eden Hazard proved the difference. Jose Mourinho claimed he “loved it” when asked about his team’s defensive performance at the Bridge and we’d anticipate more of the same when they face Arsenal in the London derby this weekend.
It’s a very tough game to call. Arsenal are on a nine game winning streak, having led six of their last nine at half time.
The last time they played at home, they delivered a killer blow to Liverpool’s top-four hopes with an impressive and commanding 4-1 win, where Mesut Ozil ran the show from midfield – they’ll be hoping for more of the same energy and precision in their game against Chelsea.
Chelsea on the other hand simply defy odds and statistics. It looked like they could find no way past QPR during their last away outing, until Cesc Fabregas (sorry Arsenal fans) popped up with a late winner, drilled into the bottom corner - Rob Green continues to hang his head in shame.
They also ground out a win away at Hull when Steve Bruce’s men looked like they might have one of those giant-killing days.
and Sky Bet
are offering Arsenal to win at 6/4
, making Arsenal slight favourites. The draw looks attractive at 9/4
but only a fool would write off the possibility of Chelsea completing their double over Arsenal at a price of 9/5
. We predict it will come down to the performances of the main men on the field.
Goal scorer markets
Fresh from Player of the Season nominations, Alexis Sanchez and Eden Hazard will undoubtedly be the key battle.
Alexis Sanchez scored Arsenal’s brace in their FA Cup Semi-final triumph last weekend and comes into the game with an impressive fourteen goals this campaign, nine scored in front of the Emirates crowd.
Hazard on the other hand has not been outshone and continues to wow domestically and overseas. Hazard has scored an impressive thirteen in all competitions and picked up five goals away from home, with an imperious record from the spot.
They both sit statistically in the top performing players in Europe, alongside Lio Messi, Arjen Robben, Cristiano Ronaldo and ex-Chelsea man, Kevin De Bruyne.
Other protagonists will have their say. Olivier Giroud has bagged fourteen goals this season and Diego Costa (touted by Mourinho as a potential inclusion, following a hamstring injury) leads the Barclay’s Premier League with nineteen to his name – eight on the road.
The adventurous of you will have a punt on Hazard or Sanchez to score first but both are offered at attractive prices in anytime and scorecast markets.
are offering Sanchez to score first at 9/2
and anytime at 7/5
. Likewise, Hazard to score first can be had at an attractive 15/2
, while anytime is a good price at 13/5
. For the brave among you, Arsenal to win at home and Sanchez to open the scoring is 28/1
– you wouldn’t write it off, would you? Gambling Deals cashback anyone?
Gambling Deals says
Arsenal are on a very impressive run. Their key men are back in the team and the in-form midfield of Ozil, Ramsey, Cazorla and Coquelin is possibly the best in the Premier League right now. Possibly.
It will all come down to the battle for the middle of the park, with Fabregas and Matic looking to break up play and hit Arsenal on the break through Hazard and Costa – player’s that hurt Arsenal earlier in the season at Stamford Bridge.
