Although Mr Craig is yet to hang up his tuxedo, rumours are floating around that it may not be long until we see him replaced by another deserving hand to star as the next James Bond.

He stated last year, “I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists" when asked if he would play the spy again, with a contradicting statement made this year that the role is, "the best job in the world".

This has made it difficult to tell what's on the cards and we think Daniel's offer of 150 million dollars to return as the British Secret Service agent will be counting as a strong deciding factor! Though if he does decide to break away from the role, there are many suitable candidates lining up to take his place.

Aiden Turner, Tom Hardy, Jamie Bell, James Norton, Jack Huston, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, and Ryan Gosling are some of the bookie’s favourites.

Tom Hardy is a particular favourite since demonstrating his ability to adapt effortlessly to a number of high-profile roles throughout his acting career. This has sparked not only a love for this Hollywood heart-throb, but talk that he could be next to star on the 'silver screens' as Mr Bond.

Aiden Turner had been top choice for some time but since Tom Hardy’s star turn in ‘Taboo’, (his latest eight part BBC drama series), Tom’s odds have been slashed, falling as short as 7/4 that he will be ordering his next martini, ‘shaken, not stirred’.

Tom also told Sky News back in 2015,"I think anybody would consider doing Bond, wouldn't they?" but he’s refraining from saying too much through fear that talk of the role may jinx his chances, stating the following during an interview with 'The Daily Beast'.

"There's a saying amongst us in the fraternity of acting, that if you talk about it you're automatically out of the race. So, I can't possibly comment on that one!"

If you have seen the films ‘Mad Max’, ‘This Means War’ or ‘Star Trek Nemesis’, I think you’d agree they certainly prove Tom’s range, with ‘Inception’ predominantly demonstrating that he is more than capable of pulling off the suave and sexy persona necessary for becoming a 007 agent. (An important attribute for any of the potential candidates to have if they are to sustain a life-time's worth of sterling performances already seen from the likes of Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Mr Craig-to name a few).

Fantastic Four actor, Jamie Bell has also been one of the top favourites, especially with Bond director Barbara Broccoli being particularly impressed by the actors work in the upcoming, ‘Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool’.

With odds flying around the bookmakers at some of the world’s leading Internet betting exchange companies offered at Gambling Deals including Paddy Power, Ladbrokes and Coral, it’s a great time to get betting with up to 20% cash back available every time you play!

As much as we would love to see Daniel Craig back on the screens as Bond, it is clear that this may not be the case, and with the competition to play him well and truly hot up, any one of the capable stars mentioned could be next to hold a licence to kill.
